TECA CONCEPT VEHICLE
The TECA concept vehicle was a project started in 1998 at the Royal College or Art in London. Development over a two year period lead to two working prototypes of a low-profile enclosed prone two wheel vehicle. The advantages in efficiency from improved aerodynamics, low center of gravity and the smaller engine requirement were ahead of their time as well as the monocoque structure made from a carbon fiber and Kevlar composite. Using a rigid structural shell to protect the rider whilst maintaining the dynamic forward leaning riding position was an exciting new approach.
